Cyclocross in Seattle

Cyclocross season is still in full swing. I just had the opportunity to race in Seattle this past weekend. The course at Woodlawn park was - fun! Wow, it was awesome to be on the start line with over 20 women and to have 30 women race before in the Cat 4 category, and another 20+ women to race in the Cat 1/2/3 category. The weather was true cross racing weather with some cool temperatures, rain and plenty of mud. The course was fun with lots of cheering from the crowds and ringing of cow bells. I was happy to see a hill on a course - which helped with my start so I was able to get the hole shot to the first turn. The course had a fun downhwill, some tight turns, lots of mud, a run up and some barriers with grass, gravel and pavement for some variety. With three laps to go I was caught by a local star rider but, was able to catch her back on the climb and pull away to take the win. This race was definitely a confidence builder! It helped to have so much energy in the crowd out there and my number one fan - Christian cheering!

Next race - Provincial Race - Burnaby - Foreshore Park - November 21
November 28th - BC Cup Finals - Surrey
November 29th - BC Provincial Champs - Mahon Park, North Vancouver

Cross Rides: Still on....

Everyone welcome to come out and ride on a cross or mountain bike for the informal workout!

See you out there in the mud!
