September 5th - was the date of the return of Xterra to Canada - the off road National Championships
The event was held in Whistler with the swim start in Alta Lake, and an awesome technical mountain bike course out of Rainbow Park with a nice run to the finish at Nitka Lake Lodge. Active Life Multisport had a team in the relay event. Sophia Sauter started off the day with a strong swim in the chilly waters of Alta Lake, followed by Heather King who chased down some girls on the mountain bike, and Kelly Wilcox brought the team home with a quick run to the finish to take the win!
We were then treated to an awesome BBQ - likely the best post race BBQ!
Sophia and Heather were then kept busy providing physiotherapy services to the other finishers. Kelly, kindly helped with the set up and take down of the tent. Thank you Kelly and thanks to Laddie for being our cheering section!
